Venue
Our Flagship National Conference 2025 will be hosted in the Nancy Rothwell Building, also known as the Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD), University of Manchester, M13 9PL. The home of Engineering and Materials at The University of Manchester. It is a place like no other where engineers, material scientists and fashion students collaborate, innovate, and make their mark on the world.

By Air
Most major airlines travel to Manchester Airport, located 10 miles south of the city centre. For information about flights visit the Manchester Airport website. The airport has frequent trains to both Picadilly Station and Oxford Road Station 24 hours-a-day. Picadilly and Oxford Road are about a 15-minute walk from the Schuster building or a short taxi ride.

A taxi from Manchester Airport will cost approximately £25 and will take 20-30 minutes. There is also the local bus service (number 43) that will take you outside the University of Manchester student union which is a 2-minute walk away from the Schuster building.

You can also fly to Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Once you have arrived you can catch a bus to Liverpool South Parkway Station from which you can catch a train to Manchester Oxford Road Station. It is then a 15-minute walk from Oxford Road Station to the Nany Rothwell building or a short taxi ride.

By Train
The railway stations closest to the venue are Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road. These are about a 15-minute walk away from the Schuster building or a short bus or taxi ride away. It is worth noting that train prices in the UK vary based on when you intend to travel and how far in advance you book the ticket. You can buy your ticket in advance online or at the station, that you travel from.

By Coach
If you catch a national express service to Manchester Coach Station you can catch a bus to the university stop from many services or it is around a 25-minute walk.

By Car
If you are driving to the conference the postcode is for the Nancy Rothwellis M13 9PL, there are reasonably priced parking facilities nearby.

Travel within Manchester
Manchester City Centre is quite compact and can be travelled on foot. There is also a free shuttle that operates within the city centre.
