The UK Clean Energy Summit 2025
As the UK government advances its mission to cement the nation’s position as a global clean energy superpower, we stand at a moment of real opportunity – not only to accelerate to net zero, but to turbocharge national and regional growth, create high-value jobs and drive investment.
Hosted by University of Sheffield, The UK Clean Energy Summit 2025 is a national event which will bring together leaders from industry, policy and academia to explore the role of groundbreaking research and development, industry innovation and effective government policy in achieving this ambition, and how we can maximise the power of collaboration to ensure we capitalise on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The two-day conference and exhibition will be held at Magna – a dedicated unique events space set in a former industrial steelworks in South Yorkshire, which is home to the UK’s largest clean-tech cluster. The event will showcase the latest industry and academic innovations across the energy mix – from hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuels to carbon capture and storage and small modular reactors.
Through keynote speeches by political leaders and industry heavyweights, and interactive workshops and panel discussions with pioneering businesses and academics, the summit will explore the key challenges and opportunities to unlock real growth and achieve ongoing sustainability. It will also examine the role that UK regions, including those in the North, can play in supporting the clean energy transition. There will be opportunities to network with delegates and join a dinner with distinguished guests and a high-profile speaker.
The UK Clean Energy Summit is hosted by the University of Sheffield and its Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). The University is also home to world-leading pilot-scale research centres working with industry to test and develop green energy solutions for a decarbonised future.
The conference is being delivered with support from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC).
The summit is for:
- Leaders from across the clean energy sector.
- Representatives from clean energy and related industries, from SMEs to global firms.
- Representatives from the clean energy sector bodies.
- National and regional politicians, policy makers and decision makers.
- Academics in relevant research areas.
